Online Game ‘PUBG’ has crossed the milestone of one billion downloads

Chinese tech giant Tencent says its mobile phone action game PUBG Mobile has crossed the milestone of a total of one billion downloads outside China. Since then, the online game PUBG has become one of the most successful games in the world.

According to a report by the British news agency ‘Reuters’, PUBG Mobile is the mobile version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. In which a group of players fights with each other until only one player is left.

This online game has been popular since it was launched 3 years ago. Following the latest figures for PubG Mobile’s downloads, it has now overtaken Kiloo Games’ Subway Surfers and King Digital Entertainment’s Candy Crush Saga.

According to data analytics firm Sensor Tower, both games are easy to play and a large number of people like them. An analyst at Nico Partners said that the one billion downloads of PubG Mobile meant that other games like it could reach the same place.

Tencent, the world’s largest video game company in terms of revenue, has another similar game in China called Peacekeeper Elite. The announcement comes as Tencent announced a 29% increase in its online games revenue in the fourth quarter. As a result, the number of users playing video games in China and international markets increased.

According to the company, their two-hit games Honor of Kings and PubG Mobile, topped the Chinese and international markets in the same quarter, respectively.
